By using Solunar (the “Site”), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Site. We may update these terms from time to time; continued use means you accept the current version.

Informational use only — no warranty

Solunar provides free solunar forecasts — the predicted best fishing and hunting times for a location and date — as a planning aid and for general information only. Solunar times are a traditional aid based on the position of the sun and moon, not a guarantee that fish will bite or game will move. Real-world activity depends on weather, water temperature, barometric pressure, season, pressure from other anglers, and plain luck.

The Site is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability. You use the forecasts at your own risk, and Solunar is not liable for any loss, wasted trip, or damage arising from your use of the Site. Always check and follow local fishing and hunting regulations, licensing requirements, tides, and weather before you head out.

How the forecasts are calculated

Every forecast is computed from established astronomical formulas — the sun and moon’s rise, set, and transit (overhead/underfoot) times for your exact coordinates and time zone. We derive the solunar major and minor feeding periods, moon phase, and day rating from those calculations rather than a generic national table. The math is documented in our methodology. Transit times are based on meridian passing and can differ by a few minutes from the exact moment of maximum altitude.

Affiliate & advertising disclosure

Solunar is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Some links to fishing and hunting gear on this Site are affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission — at no extra cost to you — if you buy through them. The Site is also supported by display advertising. These commercial relationships never influence the forecasts; the times are pure astronomy.

Acceptable use

You may use Solunar for your personal fishing and hunting planning. You agree not to scrape, bulk-download, or republish the Site’s data or content at scale; not to overload, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site; and not to use it for any unlawful purpose or in any way that infringes our or others’ rights. The Site’s content, design, and calculations are protected by intellectual-property laws and remain our property.
